Jose, a queer Filipino artist based in Mohkinstsis (Calgary), engages in interdisciplinary exploration, encompassing interactive media, digital art, and craft. His work draws inspiration from themes of nature and ecological posthumanism. Often in his works, he critiques forms of anthropocentrism, attempting to re-shift perspectives to align with the ecosystems we belong to. Independently, he is also deeply interested with the creation of public art installations and has been involved with STEPS Public Art, Chinook Blast, and N!ght L!ght festival. Recently he has also co-produced an immersive performance during Live Biennale 2023 in Vancouver. Jose may be observed in the evening hours creating temporary projection mapped art around Calgary's downtown area.
